Club Activities
Many of our members say that the heart of BWC is its individual clubs.
Each club is organized by a Convenor and the schedule of the clubs’ meetings is arranged to avoid overlaps with other clubs’ meetings. This allows a member to participate in as many clubs and activities as she wishes. To get an idea of when the clubs meet, as well as other matters of note, please have a look at our Calendar page.
All of our game clubs – Bridge, Chinese Mah-jong, American Mah-jong, and Canasta – welcome players of all levels to learn a new game or match skills with other pros. Win or lose, it is always a good time.
Our monthly Book Club chooses member-proposed books for its discussions. These tend to be wide open, thought-provoking, invigorating, and often down-right fun, almost as much fun as the discussions that follow over coffee and cake.
Our Breakfast Club and Lunch Bunch meet monthly at a wide range of restaurants in the West Island. Our Convenors entice with local and exotic menus, as well as the always great times that come with seeing friends over a meal
Our Walk and Talk club holds bi-weekly walks of 45 – 60 minutes, generally on local West Island routes. Getting together with friends for a good walk in the fresh air can’t help but bring a smile and make one feel good.
Special activities, to which all members are invited, are often arranged by individual BWC members. Such activities have included visits to local sites such as Lavender Fields in Vaudreuil, high tea in Rigaud, Vineyard tour in Vaudreuil, as well as a walk through Cooper’s Marsh Conservation area and a Victorian Christmas at the home of Sir George-Étienne Cartier.
