Club Activities

Each activity offered is organized by a Convenor; the complete monthly schedule is found on our calendar along with other matters of note. Members are welcome to participate in as many activities as they wish.

All our game activities – Bridge, Chinese Mahjong, American Mahjong, Canasta and Mexican Train Dominoes – welcome players of all levels to practice their skills and spend time together with other members. Win or lose, it is always a good time.

Our monthly Book Club chooses member-proposed books for its discussions. These tend to be wide open, with thought provoking, invigorating, and often down-right fun debates!

Our Breakfast Club and Lunch Bunch meet monthly at a wide range of restaurants in the West Island.  Our Convenors entice with local and exotic menus; we have great times as we meet with friends over a meal.

Our Conversations group meets twice a month to practice their French conversational skills.  All levels of conversational skill are welcomed although a basic knowledge of French is required.  Conversation takes place in a friendly and easy-going atmosphere and always includes some laughs.

Special activities, that are open to all members, are often arranged by individual BWC members.  Such activities have included visits to local sites such as lavender fields in Vaudreuil, high tea in Rigaud, a vineyard tour in Vaudreuil, as well as a walk through Cooper’s Marsh Conservation area and a Victorian Christmas at the home of Sir George-Étienne Cartier.
